Hb lemon lavender saison.

Went to Cleveland Indians game today. They had a 2 hour 45 minutes “rain” delay in anticipation of a line of rain that was still 2 hours west of Cleveland at the scheduled start time. It ended up raining lightly for about 10 minutes. We left before the game started. What a waste of money! I did get a Fat Heads Head Hunter, which was the highlight.

Stivo Pils. Special collaboration between Russian River and Firestone Walker. Limited release, only brewed once before, a couple of years ago. Great pilsner.

Napa Parabola. Interesting. Parabola aged in Napa wine barrels instead of their traditional bourbon barrels.

Personally not a fan of Wine barrel aged beers unless it's light. How was it?

Had HB Raspberry Sour/BlackBerry Mead and now SoCo Homebrew Dudes (LHBS) Strawberry Wine. Pretty nice..

I'm with you on wine barrel aged beers, usually not my thing, but this was actually quite good. I got initial tastes of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla (like I do with the regular Parabola), with a very subdued currant flavor in the background, bordering on a nice pinot-like taste, (but quite well hidden in the background). Lacked the muted coconut I usually get from Parabola, which I assume comes from the bourbon barrels. At any rate it was a lot better than I expected, but I still prefer the regular BBA Parabola to its Napa cousin. Picked up 2 bottles of '19 Parabola to age, and one bottle of '18 Mole Merkin to drink sooner.
