Crooked Stave Progenitor, Dec. 2014 and June 2015 side by side. 2014 is more sour with the subdued hop aromas, but a brighter, fruitier hop flavor. 2015 is less sour, with notably more intense hop aroma but a funkier flavor profile.

Not getting the big coffee presence like last years version, this one is boozy and maybe it's the upped abv but the whiskey dominates, no cocoa or coffee really, lots of barrel not that that's a bad thing. I was pretty impressed. None of their beers jumped out to me as super appealing, but they have clearly put effort into making sure that they have good variety on tap. I had a Boudler Chocolate Shake Porter (good), a few DC Brau beers (the keg kicked when I re-ordered their Pale, she told me to pick another and gave me the half pint) and a fairly local Helles. (IMO) The worst thing they had on tap was Narragansett.

I had app's since it was happy hour and apps were half price and I enjoyed them. Some people at the bar got more elaborate food - I thought the guy next to me was going to kill himself he was stuffing his burger in so fast, but he said he had to go to work.

All in all, for $40 I had a great time. The fact that its only 5 metro stops from DCA means I"ll be going back next time I have free time at the airport.

Edit - I also want to mention that my bitching about local places is largely based around the fact that bars in RI can't legally have "Happy Hours" - there are work arounds, but its more convenient for them to just not run any specials.
