Scored that free carboy yesterday.
Stayed up late.
Tired.

Coffee/water

But did you brew?

Gotta run out to the shed to pitch my yeast. Having iced coffee now.
I took Friday off work and came back to find out my suspicion is correct, my new boss is a total micro manager and will be over-bearing. This won't go well.

I hear you. I have 8 days off but my coworker passed her nasty head cold on to me. I'm still planning on a brew session today.

What is with this weird summer cold going around? Everyone seems to have it. They are the worst. Alcohol kills germs, so more drinking is definitely on order.

Full Throttle... Monday.

The days and weeks are whipping by too fast, woke up this morning and felt like a crisp fall day, kids are almost back to school. Crazy.

I thought you were one of the lucky ones who gets to work from home?

Coffee/ water getting things ready for brew day this afternoon.

What's brewing today?

For lack of a better word ( I'm not well educated on beer styles) basically a drinkable yeast starter using WLP002 and lemon drop hops/centennial hops, and simple grain bill( somewhere in between a Smash and an pale ale). I'm gonna brew a big lewboski RIS in a few weeks and plan on pitching it on top of the yeast cake. I've never reused yeast before so it should be interesting. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Gotcha... good luck, don't have much in the way for advice though.

I was going to save some of my saison yeast slurry, but I don't know if I should after dry-hopping. However, not too concerned because some grassy flavors in a saison wouldn't be too terrible (if it even contributes anything).

Would just be nice to have a stock pile of yeast I can use, especially when that tends to be a good chunk of the brew price. When I brewed the mild, the fresh pack of notty was a quarter of the batch cost.

Yeah I would like to get organized enough and start doing that too especially since between me and my brew buddy work schedules it seems like we never have time to make yeast starters and end up buying double yeast instead

Office? as in you got a job? If so congratulations :rockin:

Something like that. Was surprised I got a window office in a high-rise, which is pretty awesome. How else am I going to support my drinking habit?

The good thing is my schedule will be just as flexible as it was at my old place, which means I can still drink a brew while I'm mowing the lawn in the mornings. :D

Just got a new job pressing the button that launches rockets into space.
They let me do it from home, so I don't even have to get out of bed.
Its pretty much the best job ever and they pay me a lot of money.

That's too much effort. Save yourself from carpal tunnel syndrome...

Read up on yeast washing. It's easy and will definitely save money. Don't worry about dry hops either. Hops will fall out when washing and you can pour the clean yeast slurry right from the top.

Yeah... but that sounds like work.

Can't I just pour it into some old Grizzly snuff containers and shake it up really good before pouring it in my wort?

I am. She wants me to install Lync on my machine. Here's the situation, she claims it is so she can share my screen. i've been working remotely for a number of years and have done quite fine without sharing screens with anyone. I think it's a BS excuse to watch how much time I idle on my PC. Either way, does anyone really think that I somehow managed to keep my job and produce the numbers and work I produce by literally not sitting at my desk all day?
We had some nasty head cold. Sneezing, headaches, runny nose, coughing. Everyone I know got it, last 24 hours in the worst cases.
Who is we? You and Psylocide?
Office Coff.

FML
Well that is great, actually!

IT is actually...

And will continue to be. :D

Let's hit them all.

Fins is a girl, Bucknuts doesn't touch his dick when he pees, TheCADJockey is a cutter, Hello is still ranting, Remmy is on his 90th Sea Hag of the day in his high-rise that came with personal strippers and a log splitter, WesleyS doesn't actually brew and I only drink Busch Light, only.

Oh and CAD and I are totes ghey for each other.

I'm sure I missed a bunch, but I'm still new here.
