My tequila lime saison with taco salad. Perfect pair and I'm thinking the saison is right at its peak! Love pairing food and beer. Probably my favorite part of brewing

Has anyone seen a 2014 hop thread? . Im getting ready to harvest. Storm blew down the trellis. Lots of hops done but no way to put it back up.

Finally having DC's smoked RIS ... Glad I let this sit a bit since the smoke is still quite powerful. Tasty, but I'm definitely in the less smoke is better camp. ;)

You never know without trying though! Did you used a smoked grain or some other method? Speaking of which, this year for my porter I cold steeped the specialty grains (a little over two pounds in a gallon of distilled water.) I was afraid I'd get muted color from it, but no - it's dark as night. And the aroma was heavy chocolate. I'll know once it is ready, but I'm sure it won't have a lot of astringency and will be the way I go with porters from now no.

I used smoked grains. Need to look at the recipe. Those bastards were powerful.
