Yeah me too I drank em both and there's a bunch left at my store but I just can't think even for a beer to trade plunking down 9$ again. Wonder why thairstyle dog feels they need to charge so much. Oh well

I generally throw caution to the wind when it involves beer.

However, I do have a beer acquisition problem.

I buy limited stuff, then feel horrible for drinking it by myself.

So it sits around in my cellar/basement office. Lol.

I know it'll snow, so either way, I need a working snowblower. It's just a matter of how cheap I am (read: how handy I TRY to be ;) ) versus the will of SWMBO to spend every penny I don't have.

More mixed fruit blonde hb while reading up all I can about whether or not this swap is advisable and easily doable. I mean hell, I'm halfway there already so why stop now hahaha :D

Pardon my ignorance( we don't have snowblowers in SE Texas) but are they much different from 4 stroke lawn mowers? Put oil in it the day you buy it, throw in some sea foam in the gas tank when you put it up for the winter then never worry about the thing for 15 yrs maybe change out a spark plug and air filter at 10 yrs. if that's the case a rebuild engine for $99 seems like a deal

I have a strange feeling my bank account and I are not going to be friends after I visit the liquor store I just found outside of Denver.

I better take a bigger truck.

Been there, done that. I recently bought a couple hundred bucks in pipeworks beer based on reputation and having never had any. All but one of them pretty much sucked.

Let me make sure it isn't hiding local as I really need to curb the trading through the brewery build. That said, yeah, I am probably gonna ask for one or two. Damnit.

Ok well Lmk so I can make sure my place has em and grab some, I forgotvthier barley wine also has a gold foil wrapper and I just remembering seeing that wrapper when I walked by the beer a couple days ago but I'm pretty sure they still have some of the stout.

Me too. I just started using BeerEXchange and realized how much beer I've got sitting around. My goal is to wipe as much out this year as possible.

This, though, is not the case for me. I buy whatever strikes my fancy and either bring it to beer shares, trade it, or me and wifey share it. I will totally harpoon a whale by myself if I feel like it.

Have to work tomorrow unfortunately...

This is stuff I have either had before or gets awesome reviews from HBTers and is limited release (sort of).

So it's game on.

But no more trading for awhile after this trip. Between this and the stuff coming from Belgium, SWMBO is going to kill me.

My wife lost her taste for most beers when she got sick from an IPA one day...turns out it was morning sickness for #1.

She is slowly gaining her appreciation for beer again, but not as fast as I would like. (I'm so caring, lol.) So I have to take down these whales myself.

I usually feel ****ty the next morning...about not sharing it with someone. :rockin:

Kidding? You sent amazing stuff. I had to try to match it.

(Archer voice:) Your words.

I like sending some things out of my stockpile...it is quickly becoming a dolphin slaying arsenal; since it probably can't go whaling on it's own yet.

If they're going to keep us stuck in this terminal for hours on end, they could at least try to heat it decently. Coat and scarf, thinking of pulling out the gloves soon...

I would escape to the beer serving area.

Second pour of thirteenth hour.

nukebrewer approved!

Only thing left to do is drink. A lot.

Just made up a gallon batch of root beer...using 2/3 sugar to 1/3 honey and Vintner's CY17 yeast (what I have on hand and what the hell?). Bottling soon...decided to run the bottles through the dishwasher. Meanwhile, pulled out another bottle of hb robust porter. This one has been in the fridge for a few days now. It still was a slow pour, big head; but that settled and it's better than the one that only chilled for a matter of 6 or 8 hours. Not my favorite recipe overall though...wish I had made more of it with coffee. I'll try a different recipe next time.

Got the root beer bottled...just 11 bottles, but it was fun and easy and I hope they'll be tasty in a couple weeks. Now for an hb East Coast yeast, local cascade hops, American Amber Ale. It poured a *little* big on the head, but a few minutes later and that sucker is still creamy and full! The beer is not overcarbed and the flavor is much more interesting than I had hoped for with this experiment using a combination of early addition hops that had been vac sealed in jars and frozen whole and late addition hops that were dried leaf (and had kind of browned). I really was expecting a flop...sometimes things DO work out!

After a few quaffs, the head dropped to a nice cover...good lacing.

Flight canceled, heading home, try again tomorrow. Came really really close to saying eff it and canceling the whole trip. Hoping I don't regret that decision tomorrow.

On my nightcap. Rather annoyed that SWMBO's brother came over to do laundry and realized that I never started the dryer, so he threw our wet clothes in a basket and dried his own instead. And never threw ours back in or told us what he did. Wtf? :what:

SWMBO said she was bored and we don't go out enough..

I said let's go to lagunitas in petaluma one weekend coming up...

No objection.

SWMBO's brothercan buya rollof quarters next time and hit the laundramat.

Having a small pour out of my open jug of cider and calling it a night as I listen to the sleet outside turn into a deluge. No snow...all ICE. We're flocc'ed.

Coffee, nice warm delicious coffee. Not enough sleep but that's my own fault. The town is silent today. The snow is a mix of packed snow and ice. It's not soft like doggie likes so she wasn't thrilled when I woke her in excitement to go outside and pee & play. She wasn't having it...nor was I. I couldn't get my hands on ice melt, I tried Sunday & Monday but stores were sold out and there was a line at Lowes at 11 am for a shipment to arrive. Annoying. Anyhow...no ice melt for me.

I've been thinking about this, I wonder if there is something going on like an infection starting. I've never had that feeling when I drink your beers, but when is the last time you changed the tubing on your siphon and bottling wand? May be worth a shot. Do you dismantle your spigot as well? Maybe do that too. It makes no sense that you use less than the required amount of priming sugar but the majority of the beers you have are always over-carbonated. Even the ones you've sent to secondary and beyond suffer, I believe. It is time to start kegging my friend. :) But then again, with the variety you have on hand for brewing, I doubt the Mrs will be thrilled to allow you to have at least 4 taps. ;) The only solution is I move next door and we build a mega kegorator!

It's my Friday and it was a helluva day. Performance evaluations at work to mostly women = tears.

Well, I'm a dick...I figure there will be little to no tears if they were doing their job. Or is this just an over-emotional batch? That's the worst.

Would if I could. Apparently they have until 1230 to try and fix whatever the issue is before they'll cancel the flight. Fun..

What a waste of my time.

Yeah. It looks like snow, but I was just out there and the way it is barely compacting under foot suggests that it is mostly ice covered in snow. It was snowing, not sleeting, when I was out at 7. When the sun comes out there will be mayhem because the light snow will melt leaving a lot of ice.
Coffee. Sometimes I wish I had a longer drive just to get more coffee down before I get there.
Said no one ever.

@supervisingchildren I will say that the #1 best thing about buying a house or even moving to a place where I had my own laundry was that I didn't have to deal with people. I've had under garments stolen, I've had clothes tossed all over the floor because I waited another 5 minutes before returning to remove my stuff from the washer or dryer (they did not discriminate), and the kicker was the dry clothes tossed in the trash and laundry soap dumped all over them. That did it for me...even over someone stealing bras and underwear.

/end chatty cathy @coldcrash ;)
