Comparing my Weizenbock to the gold standard, aventinus.I didn't brew it as a clone, but was curious to compare. Aventinus (left) is a bit sweeter, lighter in color, and clearer. Mine (right) is lower alcohol as well.

@Bramling Cross ...Yeah, it's as good as the hype. I bought a kilo from Australia (Beerco.com) and I've made a very good IPA, Single Hop Pale, with other hops for a couple NEIPAs, and this Pilsner. It only has 3oz as a dry hop and is nicely fruity in a way different than Citra and Galaxy. But, alas, it's been unavailable for 18 mos or so.

As a UF alumnus, I have a positive feeling towards Swamphead anyway. Thing is they make great "quirky" beers - the base beer is the main flavor and then the add-ons meld well. A good example is this kolsch with nice hints of cherry and lime.
