I'm looking to brew a extract IPA what are y'alls favorite recipes???

IPA's are my favorite beer i buy it the store but i have never brewed any my self.

are you new to brewing? If you are I wouldn't pick your favorite beer to do as your first recipe as you might be a little disappointed. You have to start realizing that you are just making beer right now and work out the kinks and then make awesome beer.

Ha, I almost passed this one up because of the "ya'll"

But IPAs are my favorite and I'd like to share:

- Ichthyosaur IPA (the best, IMHO) - Great Basin Brewery
- Two Hearted Ale - Bell
- Ranger IPA - New Belgium

That's a good start for a list I'm sure many people with contribute to!

What is a good 1st brew beer to make?

If this is your first, I would start simple and move on from there. If your extract, do extract to about 1.065 gravity points and steep some C60 to give it some color and body then do a combination of Centennial and Cascade. This will give you a classic taste yet simple.

Say
1oz Centennial @ 60
1oz Cascade @ 15
1oz Centennial @ 0
1oz Cascade @ 0
Dry hop with 1oz of each

I think an IPA is probably among the best first beers to make, simply because it's harder to mess up hop flavor than it is everything else, and if that's what you like, you can consequently appreciate a "mediocre" brew more.

Try a look through Austin Homebrew's "Version of Commercial Beers" list. They might possibly have a clone you already enjoy.

I'm a fan of Pike's IPA (which they have), and the New Belgium Ranger (which they do not).
