I joined a little over a month ago, and have learned plenty from this site so far. When I joined I knew absolutely nothing about brewing beer, and in fact was not even an ale drinker...more of a burned out CBM drinker who gave up on beer a couple years back. On the recommendation of some other homebrewers I have met I am trying more and more commercially available craft beers, and for the most part am liking what I have tried. My first brew was a Northern brewer American amber, I have no idea why I picked that ..but I did..so far I'm not a really big fan of cascade hops.....that batch is only 12 days into bottle conditioning and I'm already 3 days into my second batch which is a "Kolsch" from NB as well...I look forward to interacting with as many of you as possible or necessary, but would also like to say..I am one to use the search button and research my questions "before" just asking in general...one can learn so much more from researching as opposed to just outright asking and getting a direct answer...We'll see where all this leads and I'm highly looking foward to some good Home brew...

Welcome to the addiction, I mean hobby, Wess. Glad to hear you've learned so much, happy brewing. :mug:

Thanks for the welcome guys...YES I am WessB on the egghead forum..proud owner of 5 big green eggs, and it seems there are quite a few egg owners that are also home brewers, and I look forward to sharing adventures and achievements along the way. I have learned a lot of the little I already know about brewing from a fellow egger, I'm sure he is also on this board but don't know what he goes by here...on the egg forum he is "Deepsouth"...Thanks for everything Jason.

That's a thing of beauty, Wess!

Yours too, Buff. But get some black on the inside of that thang! :)

Just did some chicken breast, pineapple rings, bell pepper and campari tomatoes followed by some fresh peaches on mine. Damn! It feels good to grill. Hadn't done much since the kid came along in January.

Wess, I met you at the 2008 Waldorf Eggfest, I think. I was grilling Romaine and did some Rockfish.

Waldorf is always a busy but wonderful time for me, sorry to say
i don't remember ya at this point....will definately keep you in mind for our anual Tikifest here at home...definately be serving some home brew this year...send me an e mail so I have your contact [email protected]

that was the virgin cook. It is black on the inside now!

No worries. I was a newbie and sort of kept to myself. It was a good time, though.

Haven't made it out for another Eggfest, even though my folks are in Waldorf. Had a kid in January and he's taken up a lot of focus. Next year, maybe.

I will shoot your an email.

Look forward to it...we have our Tikifest typically early in November, the last 2 years we have had over 75 eggers here, and trust me...we don't have room for that many.....you can check out pictures on my website under the "Fests" section....would love to have you and yours join us this year, it's a lot of fun, laid back and enjoyable...ya gotta get rid of that "stayed to myself" attitude...we all love to share...not sure what will be left or what might be brewed between now and then, but I got an american amber thats about 1 week from completion in bottle conditioning...a Kolsch in primary..and a nut brown ale still in the box, most likely will go to primary when the Kolsch goes to secondary....should be promising..
