So I installed my heating element too high so as to clear some of the other items in my brew pot, but my chiller doesn't fit properly where it it. It's at about the 3-gallon mark, but I need to get it way to the bottom of the pot. I've come up with a way to install it deeper in the pot and solve my problems.

I'd like to replace it with a weldless bulkhead or ball valve.

Anyone know the right size and where to get it?

That's a big hole to fill 1-3/8" maybe?

Have you thought about just blocking off the hole, maybe with an old element base (cut off the element).

A 1" to 1/2" will not work? I can't remember what size thread the elements are.

If I am lucky I only drilled a 1" hole. If I remember correctly, I have to thread the element into the hole, so it's a nice small one.

I am going to remove the element this weekend and get a decent measurement , order some parts.

Thanks.
