So I bought a plastic secondary about a month ago, have used it twice as of today. The first time I used it though I put some water/sugar in it that was too hot
and it slightly melted one of the sides. I rinsed it out real good and waited for it to cool down and all that
but then I realized that on both batches I made and put through the secondary, there is a layer on top, has the rainbow-ish characteristics like when you see gasoline on the road. Its a really thin layer, not filmy or anything like that. I just noticed it after I filled the carboy.
I didnt notice it with any other beers, so I am attributing it to carboy, and possibly something to do with the melting of it a while back.
Any ideas?
