Weird fermentation activity

I recently purchased a conical, and this is my first brew in it. I installed a sight glass to get a bit of visibility. The blow off tube is generating a nice consistent popping in the blow off water/sani.

However one seeing some weird activity in the sight glass. I was expecting to see yeasties floating around and being active, and on the back of the sight glass this is the case. But on the front it's very gassy looking. I'm not sure if this is because of the u-bend below it, but I was wondering if anyone else out there has seen this before and can put my mind at rest.

The first image shows a rapid 'carbonation like' flow. The other picture is the other side of the glass

I think you are right about the bend in the pipe. Looks like cavitation as the brew rushes around the curved pipe.

I don't think the wort/beer was flowing in that pic.
It looks like CO2 being produced is riding along the inside of that bend while the outside is still...

agree with co2 rising up where you see the trub. Created convection during active fermentation.

Clean wort going down on the back side, co@ bubbles coming up the shortest path.

Good bet that in the next two days, it will all be sediment.
