5.5 gallons of pinot noir is FINALLY in the fermenter. I must thank Yooper, she got the ball rolling on this (she sent SWMBO a fine sample from Broken Leg Cellars), it got my SWMBO off the schnied and some wine into the fermenter! :D

This was her first kit, a Pinot Noir. She did all the work, with a little bit of my schooling, but she is pretty proud.

Can't wait for a finished product....but we've got a long ways to go. The hard part is done!

:rockin:

Nothing worse than an SWMBO that's on the damn shnied. Just be careful with that wine. I was making it from the kits before I found the true path and I found that when I took out the ol' goblet I'd indulge just a tad too much and find myself on the.... schnied?

That's awesome! I wish I could get SWMBO hooked on this hobby, but she's almost a non-drinker (scored something like 40% on the booze test). I'll just live vicariously through you, Dude!

Damn cool!

I'm not sure I'll ever get the wife to want to brew or make anything like that (hell, it's hard enough to get her to make coffee ;)), but making wine's on the list of stuff to do in '08.

This is my list to do as well. I've done some minimal reading on the topic, but as I understand it it's not near as involved as brewing beer. Would you say that's accurate?

Wine from a kit is really easy, as compared to brewing. I'd tell anyone to try it! It's fairly inexpensive (if you already have the gear) and so worth it!

I might have to try some kits for wine. Roasting my own coffee is a TAD higher on the list thought. :) SWMBO is partial to wines, mainly because they get her drunk faster.

Yikes....we just got around to racking this. It went all the way down to .994, and it tastes pretty damn awesome. REALLY hot though right now.

We have wine!!!!!

Glad to hear it! As you know, the "hot" will fade, and you'll have a great wine. And then she'll need to make another.........and another............and you'll have two addicts in the family!
