so i was brewing a red ale today which consists of these ingredients (straight from my recipe):
4lb. can mountmellick AMBER liquid
2lb english light Died Malt Extract
8oz medium crystal
20z black
1oz Northdown (bittering hops)
1oz Cascade (aroma hops)
i steeped my grain for 10 minutes. My directions then call for adding Gypsum (if water is soft)
what is this? how would i check? etc. Any insight i appreciated. Thanks
