I'm planning on making a 10 gal. batch of RIS tomorrow. I've washed the yeast,
WLP004, from my previous 10 gal batch of dry stout and have put the results into 3 one half gallon jars. In the past I would typically rack the new batch onto the fresh yeast cakes in my fermenters, but I'm changing my process to wash my yeast.
I'm about to make 2 starters, one for each of my 6 gallon fermenters. Should I just pitch the washed yeast into my two 2L erlenmeyer flasks with 1/2 a cup of DME and 4 cups of water for each?
