Bottled my 5 gal batch of wheat last night and as I prepared I referenced my trusty "How to Brew" (Palmer) book for the proper amount of corn sugar required. The graphic in his book showed that for American Wheat, the range of volumes should be between 2.7 and 3.3. Splitting the difference, I used 3 and read off a corresponding 5.2 ounces (approx) of corn sugar for a beer at 70 deg. As I was waiting for things to get ready (bottle cleaning, cooling the sugar/water) decided to check a couple of other sources. What I found seemed to indicate I had used a good bit more sugar than I needed.

Any opinions on this from some of you more experienced bottlers? Should I be prepared to clean up some spraying beers?

Thanks,
