I am purchasing a 1950 Westinghouse fridge which I plan to convert to a kegerator.
The only vehicle I have to transport it to my house is a van which would require me to lay the fridge down on its side.
It's only a 20 minute or so drive to my house from where I'm picking it up, and I'm seeing mixed results in Google searches on whether or not this is bad for the fridge.

Anyone out there have any experience or insight into whether or not I'd ruin a fridge this old by laying it on its side?

I don’t see why this would hurt the fridge, after you transport it thought before you plug it in just make sure it's been upright for about a day so the freon has time to settle down again after that you should be fine.
