I recently made my first batch of Vanilla Porter from a brew kit. They were bottled Dec 17 2016. I tried one on Dec 25 was flat not to impressed. I drank one new years eve. Better still at little flat. Drank one last night January 14 and holy carbonation! It was very delcious and i was very pleased! I have most in a dark room at around 68 degrees and a couple in the fridge. My question is what is my shelf life and when will the reach there peak in flavor?

Thanks Guys!!!

I would suggest you keep trying them out for yourself to determine the right age. I have had stouts and porters that were good at 1 month, better at 3 and still quite good at +6 months or more. These tend to age well. Pace yourself on them, and enjoy!

They may already be at peak flavor. It just depends what you want and the only way to find out is through testing. If they are good, drink them. Save 6-12 to test throughout a few month period and you'll have a good idea for next time.

At 68 you'll probably want to drink them sooner rather than later.
