Vanilla Extract Powder?

Has anyone had any experience with the vanilla extract powder from Austin Homebrew Supply? I want to make a vanilla porter but I'm wondering if I should go with some other vanilla additive instead.

I've never tried it, but when I was in there the other day one of the guys on the sales floor kept trying to sell it to me. They use it in a "creamcicle" cream ale kit that they make. I wasnt buying it. I just opted to go get 2 whole vanilla beans for the vanilla porter Im doing tomorrow. Found them for $4.99 a piece at a local grocery store. Cheapest I've ever seen them though.

That stuff is the opposite color I was expecting it to be. I would never use that in anything.

I picked up three beans (either Mexican or Bourbon, I forget) for under $6 from my local Spice House. They also sell online.

I used it in my last milk stout and it turned out well. Not quite as good as real madagascar vanilla beans but quite a bit cheaper.
