Does anyone know if I can divide a 500 gram pack of dry yeast into five 100 gram packs, vacuum seal them, and store them in my freezer?

A 500 gram pack is the same price as ten 11,5 gram packs, and therefor way more economical...

fermentis packets expire after two tears in the fridge, not freezed. maybe if you work clean you can keep the yeast in the fridge.
however, it all makes no sense to me.

I buy most of my yeast in mylar-vacc'ed sachets (relatively common practice for homebrew shops in China) and I've never had a problem with it. Just be sure to be very sanitary while you're portioning them out.
