For a simple Pale Ale, in addition to using other grains, like Munich and Crystal, would adding in a pound of Maris Otter (as opposed to American 2-row) add anything noticeable to the final beer?

What are some people's experiences with using MO in a partial mash recipe?

A simple (and very good) Pale would be all MO. With Munich in the recipe, the impact of a pound of MO will be small.

David has the right idea, but I would add that even without Munich, a beer that has six pounds of extract and 1-2 lbs. of MO probably isn't going to let the MO shine. Use it in partial mashes that are more grain than extract.
