I am new to brewing and brewing beer in Thailand where supplies are very very limited. I can get amber LME, barley flakes, oats, and wheat flakes. I have some cascade and amarillo hops. I want to make an american pale ale. I wondered how much barley flakes i could use against the amber LME to get a lighter color. By calculations I can get SRM 8 using pound for pound LME to flakes. Will this come out with no flavor or will the flakes impart enough flavor? Cheers
