You'd probably be better of using one of those stainless hop baskets, much larger volume. Hops swell enormously when wet, and they need ample space around so the wort can extract the oils.

You'd need one about 1/4-1/3 of your kettle's volume for hoppy beers (IPAs NEIPAs), like a 6" wide one for an 8-10 gallon kettle. The smaller 4"x10" ones are OK for holding only 2-3 ounces, maybe 4. You could use 2 of them when brewing hoppier beers. You do need to drain and let them refill with fresh wort as often as you can, say every 5-10 minutes, for better extraction.

400 micron is better than 300 micron, more open, easier to drain. 600 micron may be even better. I've been looking at them for a while. I use bags right now (because I use a plate chiller).

Cool. I got a couple of these for Xmas. If i use them, I’ll stick to only a couple oZ. Otherwise will continue with the bags.
