I have a new 12.5 gal Conical with the 1 1/2" Dump valve on a long sweep 90 deg fitting. I want to use the valve to harvest yeast and also to dump the bottom when fermentation slows. Not sure how to do this with any control with the large valve? Thinking maybe an 1 1/2" clear hose with a 2nd smaller valve that I can use as a sight glass so I know when I am getting to clear beer at the bottom? It would be great to have a clear 90 at the bottom but would I still need another small valve for control? What do you do? Thanks Dan

I like it. actually think it may be better upstream of the big valve so you can see what is above the valve and see in the fermenter all the time?

Before or after honestly. Before would require one less valve.

If you end up with multiple conicals it would be nice to position afterwards so you can move around as needed.
