Using an aquarium chiller questions...

So I’m about to go buy a Grainfather conical fermenter with the chill pump. Was wondering if I could use an aquarium chiller to chill the water. Here’s my main question:

Does the aquarium chiller require an additional pump to get the water into the chiller? Or can I just get tubing fit for the input and output and submerge both in a fermenting bucket? In other words will the aquarium chiller actively pump the water into and out of itself? I would then run the Grainfather chill pump into that bucket and into the fermenter - if you catch my drift. Trying to prevent buying ice daily and I don’t want to shell out $1k for a Gycerol Chiller.

I'm curious if you have looked at different fermenters ? I have a Gf connect and love it . I looked into their fermenters and was shocked how much they wanted for them . I elected for spike . Spike ended up costing me more but that's because I got accessories . Just base model it's cheaper then the Gf conical. Just food for thought .
