Is it okay to turn a used cooler into a MLT? The cooler has some stains and scratches. I plan on doing a thorough cleaning and sanitizing it. Money is tight with a wedding coming up, looking to cut spending.

No problem IMO using a used cooler. Clean it and use it. No need to sanitize a coooler IMO as the mash itself is loaded w/ lacto bugs, as in "sour mash".

Yeah I figured the sanitizing wouldn't be too important as everything coming out will be sterilized in the boil.
