I use US-05 on more than half my beers, never paid attention to how the packet is and it has always worked out for me. I do the normal rehydrate and pitch, S-05 is a monster at sucking up sugar, i love it!

I have no idea what they mean by soft packet. I haven't brewed for a couple months, did they go to the vacuum packets like Danstar? Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it, mostly because I don't know what they are referring to.

The ones I've used have always been soft. I have two in the fridge and they are of the soft pack variety. Never had an issue with them

I use S-05 almost exclusively, and all the packets are "soft". They are not vacuum sealed (which I can only guess is what they mean by "hard").:confused::confused:
