Urgent, Voss kveik at 30c, been 24 hours, when to dry hop?

Hi...I don't have lots of equipment, this is my first time dry hopping, I don't mind sacrificing some hop aroma to prevent oxidation, so i want to add dry hops to the carboy while fermentation is still active, added the yeast 24 hours ago at 31c
It's at 30c now, bobbing rate has dropped to 1 bobble per 4 secs
When should I add the dry hops? The krausen is almost gone, so I will only rely on yeast using the introduced oxygen while dry hopping to avoid oxidation
 
Now is perfectly fine.

I would normally wait to add it until fermentation is complete and the fermenter has had a chance to cool down a bit. In the future to reduce the impact of O2 you can always toss in a bit of Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C) along with your hops.
 
Go for it. Being a kveik beer and assuming a quick turn around time the hops wont be in there super long before packaging. I agree with mentioned above, and also dry hop a couple days before packaging, but I understand your oxidation and equipment concerns.

After I added the hops the beer started to degas, making bobbles again and now the bobbling has completely stopped, but there are lots of green hop particles floating on the top, when is the right time to add gelatin? I'm gonna use a syringe to inject the gelatin through the blow off tube and then tape the needle hole quickly
I think I'll wait another 3 days before adding gelatin
But my worry is that adding gelatin in 3 days is gonna stop the yeast from cleaning up after itself
I'm not sure how long I have to wait with Voss kveik
 
I would just let it sit for the usual 4 weeks, that way you don't have to use gelatin and the yeast has plenty of time cleaning up.

If it is done fermenting get it off dry hops within 48-72 hours. After that cool it down in your keg. For gelatin to work best the beer should already be cold, once again, add some ascorbic acid or ~0.25 g of k meta with your gelatin to reduce the amount of O2 that would be bringing.

I think with kveik and at 30c I'm way past the cleaning up phase, added gelatin two days ago

The beer is very yeasty, tastes like yeast, very unpleasant, should I cold crash now? I'm thinking about attaching a co2 filled balloon to the other end of the blow off tube and put it in the fridge, will that clear things? How long will that take? There's a yeast cake at the bottom but the beer is still very unclear
 
Yeah if you can attach a balloon with co2, then just put it in the fridge at 4-5C for like 48h, that should clear it.
Will that deal with the yeast bite? Do you think at this point it's done cleaning up after itself?
 
Yeah it's likely done, I would cold crash it, gelatin works when chilled. I would crash it for a few days, like 3, then move to packaging. It will still need time after packaging to mature and likely will be good after a week or 2 from packaging.

Never even heard of yeast bite, but if i google it its a synonym for autolysis, and that is something you can only get if you leave beer on yeast cake for more then 3 months, so don't think there is any risk of that here.

What I meant was it tastes like yeast
I had added gelatin a few days ago
It didn't work
Now I attached a co2 filled balloon to the end of the blow off tube and left it in the fridge
How long should I leave it there and what should I see in the carboy once the beer starts clearing
I mean how do I know that cold crashing has begun

That's a pretty wild miss by Google - but I just discovered via another thread that Google Search is still learning the nuances about brewing.

"Yeast bite" is what you get when brewing yeast is still suspended in the beer. It's the harsh back-of-the-throat sensation similar to hop bite from suspended hop particles. Cold and time will resolve both.

Autolyzed yeast apparently leaves a "meaty" character...

I’ve had great success using gelatin after the beer has chilled in the kegerator for a couple days. After about the 48h mark I’ll usually hit it with the gelatin solution and then burst carbonate overnight. In most cases, after 2-3 more days, the beers are so clear you can read a book through them.

Just put it in the fride at 5C and it will begin, and just wait until its clear, normaly a couple of days should do it.
