Well, my summer beers (noted above) are officially brewed, which means that I can brew my fall beers and then the winter ones.

My upcoming fall/winter beers are (in no particuar order, at this point):

Pecan Pie Amber Ale
Bourbon Dubbel
Chocolate Maple Porter
A clone of the original Blue Moon that I found whilst browsing the forums here
Peanut Butter Porter
Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout

These (except for the Blue Moon clone) are the last of the pre-packaged mixes from Brooklyn Brew Shop that I have. Finishing them off will free me up to try some recipes in BBS's books and the ones I have found here on the forum that I'd like to try. Eventually, I'd also like to develop more of my own recipes.

Other fall/winter beers that I will be working on going forward are:

Some sort of Old-Fezziwig-type holiday ale
A clone (or as close to it as possible) for Buffalo Sweat Oatmeal Cream Stout, from Tall Grass brewing
My rendition of Kentucky Common Ale, getting as close as possible to the original, based on historical research and what's available today.

Looking toward next spring and summer, I am considering:

Maibock
Honey and Chamomile Wheat (PassedPawn's recipe)
Another brewing of Edelweiss, which has truly become one of my favourite beers and is perfect for early spring
A possible 50/50 rauchmalz and pale wheat development (I'm thinking of calling it "Prairie Fire) - working on hops and maybe and additional ingredient or two

My goal is to have these all "synced up" by the time spring 2017 rolls around, so that I can do some truly seasonal brewing - by this I mean that I am brewing some beers FOR the season and other beers WITH the season.

Anyway, that's where I'm at now...more as it happens....

next up- Belgian Blonde ale, nut brown ale, Westvleteren 12 clone... I will do a Czech pilsner before the Halloween holiday also.

Well, I was able to scratch Bourbon Dubbel off my list above (brewed this past Sunday).

Unfortunately, though, I don't think I'll be able to talk myself out of a Peppermint Porter, so that will have to go on the list in order for me to have it ready in time for Christmas. :tank:

Upcoming brews, probably in this order:

Cranberry Wheat
Root Beer Stout
A Straight-up English Pale Ale (the recipe that I came up with conforms to the style of an ESB)

From there, I need to start thinking about spring beers, including a Maibock (hopefully) and another brewing of Edelweiß, which turned out REALLY well the first time I made it. I am also thinking of a Belgian Blonde or perhaps a wheat beer with wild rose hips and (maybe) petals.

Add a batch of Das OtterWeizen to the list above....

I am hoping to brew the Cranberry Wheat and Root Beer Stout this weekend, if all goes well.

Having brewed the Root Beer Stout, Cranberry Wheat and Das OtterWeizen over the past few days, my upcoming plans for brewing include:

A straight-up English Pale Ale
A straight-up American Pale Ale
Edelweiß

I've decided to hold off on my "Rose-Cheeked and Blonde" Belgian Ale until I have some Wild Prairie Rose petals to add.

Sooner or later, I will also attempt a Maibock in the near future, as winter winds down. It probably won't be in time for May, but that's no big deal. I also need to attempt my interpretation of Kentucky Common Ale and Buffalo Sweat Oatmeal Cream Stout.

I'd like to get these beers done before the end of July - when I will be meeting up with a friend in South Dakota who introduced me to Buffalo Sweat - but we'll see how it goes....

As it turns out, I ended up not purchasing that mix for myself; however, I did get it for my #2 son for Christmas, and am hoping that he will share a bottle with Dear Old Dad when he brews it.... :tank:

Getting ready to brew a wee heavy this weekend, then a clone of Bell's Two Hearted ale.

Mmmmmmmmmm...

Since my last update, I've brewed a batch of Das OtterWeizen and two batches of Edelweiss; however, my American, English and Kentucky Common Ales are on hold so that I can brew two batches of Grapefruit Honey Ale for a friend who is refinishing the stock on my new (to me) Herter's Model U9 in .22/250.

Once these are done, I'll be back on schedule, brewing those mentioned above as well as looking at a few summer brews.

Yeah, it's been a long summer of no brewing, but I finally did get a Kentucky Common brewed almost 2 weeks ago. My two batches of Grapefruit Honey for my friend are on deck for later this week or early next.

After that, my Englisch and Amerikansich Pale Ales, then I will look at some cold-weather beers, including a nut brown ale and a "winter wheat" that I have had my eye on. I've also been considering some sort of combination of "Abbey Malt," Pilsner and Wheat, but need to think that out a bit. Instead, I might just brew another Blauer Mond, as that might have been one of my best beers yet.

Working on an Oatmeal Stout recipe, still in the thinking stages but want to brew it on Friday. Boss got some Midnight Wheat, going to use that instead of Black Barley for more body and the color, and using flaked oats instead of rolled.

Upcoming in no particular order.

American Wheat
Amber International Lager
Oatmeal Stout
Baltic Porter

Now that my Grapefruit Honey Ale is brewed, I intend to brew my Englisch and Amerikansich Pale Ales before the end of the month.

After that, a "Winter Wheat" is definitely on deck; then I will probably look into a few other darker beers to enjoy as winter begins her long, cold embrace.

Brewed Jamil's Southern English Brown a month or so ago and have that bottled now.
Bourbon Apple Scotch Ale that will be bottled the end of this week
Troegs Mad Elf clone also will be bottled the end of this week

Coming up, Westbrook's Mexican Cake clone and a Vanilla Porter (might add some smoked malt to this one). Then somewhere in the mix plan to do a White IPA

Right now I'm thinking about brewing a redx smash with some piney resinous hops. After that I don't know, maybe a double bach. I always love those. Right now I don't have any empty kegs. Maybe I need to start brewing smaller batches so I can brew more and don't feel the need to drink more. :mug:

In the time since my post above, I've brewed the Amerikanisch, the Englisch, the Winter Wheat and also a West Coast Golden Strong Ale. I'll start sampling the finished beers in about a week and am expecting some good things.

Looking forward toward to the end of a very long winter, I'll probably consider a spring lager and Bruxelles Blonde next, as well as a basic, no-frills hefeweizen; also, I'm trying to come up with a recipe for a solid northwest (not east) pale ale (not IPA), After those, I am looking closely at one called "Rose-Cheeked and Blonde," using wild prairie rosehips (which I have) and petals (which I need to get).

I actually took 6 months off from brewing but got back to it with a brown ale in mid March followed by a saison last weekend. This weekend I will brew a cream ale and the next two weekends will be a honey pale ale and a west coast pale ale of my own design.

Getting the pipeline back!

Our pipeline is pretty good right now (I won't say "full" because when is it ever full enough?) so I was going to take a couple of weeks off from brewing...but the boss & I brewed a partigyle cream ale last weekend that is shaping up into something spectacular, and I got to thinking of the raspberries I still have in the freezer as well as the raspberry syrup I canned when I did a raspberry ale last summer...and grain where I buy it is cheap...and the husband won't be home tomorrow night so maybe I could sneak a brew in when he's not looking....damn my conscience. Not to mention my perfectly clean equipment is silently screaming at me from the other side of the garage, "use me...fill me...make me boil..." Eeww that sounds dirty...but so right.

I've been thinking that raspberry would go great in a brown ale...or maybe a sort of abbey or dubbel; sooner or later I'll give it a go, with raspberries that we've picked in the mountains not far from here.

After my honey pale ale and my house pale ale are finished it will be getting pretty hot here in SC. I will try my hand at an apricot wheat.

Last year my cherry wheat was a big hit.

Got a version of Braufessor's hoppy session wheat coming up, along with a rye dark mild.

I'm also planning a second take on my cream-filled Berliner, this time with coconut and lime zest (original was cara cara oranges).

I have a kumquat saison and a John Courage Amber clone in fermenters right now, both likely to be bottled in a couple-few weeks.
