Lake Lanier water?
Yep!
Lake Lanier water?
Yep!
Well I live in Buford and this makes me feel better about my water!
That's where I work
Nice, I work in Duluth but live in the Hamilton Mill area of Buford. Pretty close to Flowery Branch.
All I'm using right now is a carbon filter for the chlorine so it's nice to know our water is horrible. I was worried.
Are you in Chicken City Ale raisers?.. There's a good chance we know each other lol
Our water is great, I think you've got a misunderstanding somewhere... Georgia has some of the best brewing water in the country! Carbon filter isn't needed, just pH control, and campden for chloride
I was given advice to use a carbon filter for the chlorine! So without knowing our water makeup I kinda went with it. Would it be better to lose the carbon and just use campden for the chloride and pH control?
Also, I'm not in Chicken City Ale Raisers so I'm not sure! I'm fairly new to brewing, only on my 2nd AG batch and a few extract brews prior.
You need about 0.2g of campden per 5 gallon batch, and I use lactic acid for pH control, but I calculate it before every batch.
If you're ever interested in brewing together or watching my brew day, just pm me!
I'd be interested to hear where you got your portable system. Thanks!
