It's never been a surprise in the past to be cracking off a cap by habit on a bottle of faux craft beer with my opener and realizing it's actually a twisty.. duh. However, since the start of the new year I have started seeing a number of somewhat legit craft brews feature twist-off caps. Off the top of my head.. Peak Organic, Pyramid, Davidson, Dundee. I'm guessing most of these bottles are coming off a contract brewing production line, but it makes little difference... these bottles go into the recycling bin, not into the bottle box for my next homebrew.
So, my question... Is anybody else finding this macro-to-micro bottling trend to be a little frustrating? I've already become a nut in selecting my beer purchases with useable bottles in mind (sorry Rouge). Will brown pop-tops go the way of dinosaur?
