Quick Question, I have been trying to brew a partial grain mostly extract IPA for a while now and cannot seem to get the ABV to what the recipe says it should be. I have tried every fix i can imagine. Seriously mixing the yeast, keeping the fermenting temp constant within its specified range, and shaking the keg throughout fermentation to keep the yeast active.

I am beginning to think that the actual recipe is wrong and i might need more fermentable sugars.

Basically I am asking how much extract you typically use to get a an ABV of around 6%?

Thanks!
