I just bottled my first partial mash. There was a thick layer of trub in the fermentor. Is it okay to throw the trub down the drain or did I just turn my septic tank into a 1500 gallon primary?

I'd toss the trub onto the compost pile. Now if there are dogs around, make sure they can't get into it; hops will kill them. You can also spread the trub in your yard, or mix into your garden soil.

Got a buddy who gas a septic tank and ge has been homebrewing for years. You ate fine if you dump it into the tank.
