I'm sure this has been brought up before but Miller Lite seems to have 2 Marketing strategies they are using to sell their beer. Vortex Bottle and it says Tripple hopped. I think I understand what they mean. I think they now use 3 pellot hops per 100 barrels instead of 2 now. And what does the Vertex do?

It's strange that the BMC companies are marketing their packaging over their beer.

Coors cans tell you how cold it is just in case your hands don't have nerve endings (to be fair, an issue for some people). And AB is marketing a thought; drink our manly beer and get laid by hot women.

I think it means they waved a small hop sack full over the BK to bless it. Like our priest does with incense.

Actually, it makes complete sense. Since all of the BMC products are essentially the same, they need a different way to differentiate their products, since it won't be on quality or flavor. That really leaves two potential ways to differentiate: create a brand that makes the buyer feel like it is special to drink that product, or make the product more convenient to drink. In this case, vortex bottling fits the latter.

I chuckle every time I see their commercials. I think "triple hops brewed... so what! " its not like majority of their target market will understand what that means anyway lol

thats very true. back before i started brewing, my beer knowledge was pretty much at zero. Miller told me it was triple hops brewed, so i thought that meant they added 3 kinds of hops(or somthing like that. honestly, i had no idea), so that made me buy it. i thought that gave them the edge.

however, i still prefer MGD/lite for the BMCs. it think it has the most beer taste of the three. maybe not the most beer taste... maybe the least piss taste?
