I'll be in Natick for work next month, and may have the option to head up on a Saturday to see what all the hype is about. Reading through this thread, it seems like Saturday is relegated to the dregs of the week's releases.. Should I be aware of anything else in Monson that can be a draw to come out that way (besides B.T.'s Smokehouse)?

I guess what I'm asking for is someone to convince me I should head west instead of going straight to Canton and drowning in Trillium.

If it's an option I would go to trillium Friday night like after 7 when the traffic clears then head west on Saturday. You might get lucky and they could have onsite offerings and you can swing through Worcester on the way back hit up armsby and drink a few HF taps as well as other solid taps.

On the other hand, my suggestion would be to go to Treehouse at precisely 8 AM Wednesday and then wait needlessly for hours in order to be extra pumped for those 8-12 cans, coming in hot.

While waiting needlessly does seem enticing, I have work 8:30-4:30 on Wed-Fri. I may just make a cannonball run Thursday night depending on what happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

honestly, I am a huge Tree House fan myself. It is a great spot and they have been very good to me over the years. The lines at 8 am...that I could do without.

Yeah. That's the thing. I love their beer, but I haven't been there for awhile because it never quite feels worth it anymore. Tempting to go tomorrow, though, mostly because I miss their beer.

Yogi! This describes me exactly. Trillium Canton/Trillum CANton has had a huge impact, but I went to Treehouse about 1/10th as many times in 2016 as I did in 2015 or 2014.

I bet this project put a big smile on Nate's face. He's always seemed to have a lot of respect for the craft beer "classics". Very cool.

Also, based on how Nate seems to operate, I wonder how this collaboration actually works... I'm sure SN didn't get a fax with a rundown on how to make Julius.

There was a pretty under-the-radar collaboration with Heater Allen that Tree House did several months ago. It was a hazy and juicy and amazing helles bock... and it still somehow tasted like Heater Allen as well. I have high hopes for this collaboration.

Yeah, Brendan made the beer on site at Heater with the Brewers there, so I am unsurprised that it was awesome. I wonder if Nate or Brendan went out to SN for the brew of this one though...

It takes me about 2 hours to get there from my office - what would my odds be of getting there in time for open, and not being too far back in line?

Wound up saying screw it and going. Got there at 2:45, picked up 5 cans of Haze, 4 Eureka w. Citra, 3 Bright along with a growler of Bright and was out by 3:15 - very smooth overall experience.

Opening is usually the most crowded part of the flow on any given day (barring unannounced release that has a bit of a whiplash on the crowd). If you are going for cans, the wait in line is generally still pretty quick even with the couple/few hundred people often lined up there for opening time. TreeHouse usually has a few registers open and churns through customer transactions quickly.

Usually later on a Thursday can get you in and out pretty quick.
