I'll be in Minneapolis for a month training for a new job. Is there any beer adventures to be had there!?!! (being kinda sarcastic). What is the best kept secret?

Not sure about adventures but Surly brewing out of Brooklyn park is sure worth a taste. Also has 2 large (and quite a few smaller) brewshops like Midwest and Northern Brewer.

I planned on visiting both NB and midwest, much to my wife's dismay. Even brought an extra suitcase! Two checked bags for free on southwest!
Having a hard time getting hold of some beer though. I'm gonna be working from 9am to at least 7pm most days and the beer (not 3.2) is only in liquor stores. And most of em close at 8.
Are there any breweries-not bmc- that do
Tours?

Surly, Summit, and Flat Earth come to mind for tours and great beer.

The stores like Blue Max have a GREAT selection of beers and make sure you stock up!

Surly comes in 16 ounce cans, and is probably my favorite brewery in the US. Every one of their beers is awesome, and the tap room is wonderful as well.

If you get the chance, the Rock Bottom downtown is really better than the average Rock Bottom. Town Hall is a wonderful brewpub and the food is good as well. I love Happy Gnome and Muddy Pig for bars with excellent selections. Near the college is Stubbs and Herbs, and they have great sandwiches and good beer on tap (not a brewpub).
