I don't have a good place to brew but my place has perfect temps for fermentation. I brew at a friends about 40 minutes away. What I'm wondering is, if I brew at this friends house and transport the wort to my place should I move it there before I pitch the yeast or is it ok to move it right after I pitch it?

Movement won't matter to the yeast. The biggest thing to worry about is keeping it from getting infected during transport and temperature. So long as you can keep these things good it doesn't matter if you pitch before or after transport.

Are you of legal drinking age?
Are you crossing state lines, or to/from a dry county/town?

If you answered yes to the first question, and no to the second, It shouldn't matter where you pitch. Just remember though, after you pitch, it becomes beer. Before you pitch, it's just sugar water.

If you pitch first it may help with aeration a bit, but how well can you manage temps on your drive? I find the less you open your FV the better too so it would be good to move it sealed and not have to open again until you are ready to test. Either way, transporting the wort should be fine, just make sure to keep everything sanitary.

The extra jostling around and resultant airation will help, except that any yeast thats clusterered and clung to the sides and top of the FV above the brew wont be doing any fermenting .

Transporting your wort isn't an issue. For example, most LHBC's encourage a group brew once or twice (or more) a year. I find I usually am doing about six a year between two different organizations I belong to. I usually have time to brew, cool down the wort and pitch before the ride home. It helps mix and aerate the wort to have it sloshing around in the car a little on the way home.
