To quote Jim Gaffagan "Has your mother ever made anything as good as a McDonald's fry?... Not even close"

Theres a place here in San Diego that does Carne Asada Tater Tots. Overlooking the beach. With a beer. So good. :ban:

With that being said, I would probably choose sweet potato fries over tots a la carte though

JR Simplot is a customer of mine, I toured their factory in Idaho, and I have worked on both the McD fries and hash browns and on various brand tater tots for them.

There is truth in this*:
..."Has your mother ever made anything as good as a McDonald's fry?... Not even close"

However, this is so far from the truth that the actual truth would really make you cry**:
Tater tots are the pinnacle of culinary invention...

*The biggest part of that truth being: no, my mother never made fries as good as McDonald's...but I do!

**Let's just leave it at, tater tots may be the pinnacle of turning garbage into money...

Tater tot casserole (or hot dish, as they say in Minnesota)! And pubs around here often serve tots with burgers, as an alternative to fries.

Yeah lots of places with cajun tots and stuff here. Great. If I wasn't so lazy I'd open up a pub with a whole menu of just tots. Cajun tots. Garlic tots. ****in' duck-fat fried tots. Curry tots. Sloppy joe tots. You name it.

Landrys Restaurant Inc would buy that idea for hundreds.

NO to Tots!

Down with Tots!

Just say no to Tots!

Now, let's talk about the truest and bestest form of potato ever discovered by mankind- salt & vinegar fried potatoes.

Yes. Just like the potato chip, but served crispy and a bit thicker than chips as a side to steak.

I am addicted to these, and make them as often as I can get away with it.

Tots are simply sad by comparison.

Oh yeah, potato chips. I forgot about those.

Your list is wrong. Don't forget latkes (potato pancakes):

And fondant potatoes:

And the aforementioned salt and vinegar potatoes:

The best potato-food on earth:

Bake a potato or three.
Put them in the fridge for a few days.
Slice them thin (but not potato chip thin).
Fry.
Salt.
Orgasm.

Question: Did Ben Franklin say "Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy?"

Answer:

The short answer is no. Offend misquoted it was "Tacos are proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy"

TACOS!!! If anyone ever makes it to San Diego, go to La Cuatro Milpas in Barrio Logan. Its hands down the best, most authentic taco you will get without going to Mexico
