Topping off H2O 24 hrs later?

Is it "safe" to top off my fermenter after its been sitting for 24 hrs? I can see fermentation already starting but I forgot to top off my 1 gallon small batch. I dont want to risk contamination but can see I am a little low.

not sure the exact volume but it's about 1-1/2" below the gallon mark of a 1 gallon fermenter.

As @Foosier said, you'll be fine. I would rely more on a gravity reading than apparent volume.
