I am on year three for my hops.I planted a Chinook and a Cascade and the first year was nothing.Last year was pretty good though they did get cut down by a hailstorm but recovered. This year they are growing strong and vigorously.I have 5 bines growing on the Chinook and 3 on the Cascade and thus far they are up to 10 feet in height and I figure by Friday or Saturday they will both reach the top of the trellis I built. It is an elevating trellis with a boom that raises and lowers via a pulley.

When the lead bines reach the top do I cut them off as well as the subsequent ones?

I would just let them keep going as long as they wish. Your prob going to get a lot of nice cones out of that topmost section :mug:
