This is a fifth-year Centennial, over in neighbor Paul's yard. It's not doing well. As the bines come up the leaves are (almost) all curling up and turning into weird shapes. Does anyone know what might cause this kind of thing?
Couple other hints ... a) this plant has given pretty decent yields in years past (although, we only have about 10 feet vertical space to work with, so it's not been a huge producer); b) the soil looks completely crappy on the top but underneath there we did actually mix in a few cubic feet of compost and good garden soil a few years back; and c) overall though, the soil is mostly clay, and was lawn before we cut out a 3' x 15' plot and threw up some fence poles and rope back in 2015. There's a Chinook on the other end of that bed; also not doing great this year, but does not show this weird leaf curling thing.
