There we go!

The hilarious part is I had declared you winner a while back, for all of 5 seconds. When I submitted that post, you had already changed your answer, and so I quickly edited it :D

Noticeable alcohol taste is pretty much a given with the style.

lame clue. you don't need to explain it, i get the clue. i had a good idea that doppel was the beer after this and the monk clue. i guessed something else because i didn't like your clues. there, take that!

I know I was thinking eisbock and accidentally typed dopplebock first so I tried to ninja edit...I should have listened to my sub-conscience :D

Give me a few minutes and I will have a pic!

Ok, This one is a combination (grain bill) of the only two House Ale's I have perfected enough to replicate. Still falls perfectly in a category at the upper limits of OG and the very bottom limit FG of a BJCP style

I disagree :D

The clue was derived directly from the BJCP style guidelines. The flavor section actually specifically says, "Invariably there will be an impression of alcohol strength, but this should be smooth and warming rather than burning."

There's really no better clue than one that's specifically mentioned in the guidelines. It's not like it was a potentially debatable statement opinion.

And the "monk" clue was a very deliberate one. I knew damn well that most people would start guessing Belgian Trappist/abbey beers. Though I was surprised it went to the extent of people completely ignoring the color!

Off Topic...How do you guys get pics without condensation. It seems the only way I have been able to do so is either snap a pick ASAP after the pour, or pour a room temp beer!

I wipe it right before taking the picture, if it's an issue.
