I was planning on brewing the Griffin Spit IPA (extract version) from this months Zymurgy. The recipe calls for a 2 gallon boil. However, I would like to boil all six gallons of water. I was curious what changes need to be made to the boil/hop times and ingredient amounts if any. Thanks for the help!

I would download a trial version of brewing software
look for a list under the "brewing software" form topic.

then enter the recipe and play with the variables to see what would happen.

I agree some brewing software would be best. You could also try: http://hbd.org/cgi-bin/recipator/recipator

I think the only thing you will have to change is the hop additions, they will need to be decreased. You get better hop utilization with a less concentrated boil. I would say enter the recipe you have now, step it up to the full boil, and play around until you get the same IBUs.

Thanks for the quick responses. I used http //hbd.org/cgi-bin/recipator/recipator and balanced everything out as best as I could. We'll see how it turns out in a couple months. Thanks again!
