I started brewing about a year ago and during my first two batchs I used my bottle brush to scrub a few spots inside of my bottling bucket. I have only had one bad batch (APA) but I believe that was due to lag time on the fermentation. I have done four other batches since then with much success.

  • Think I should worry about having a scratched bucket and maybe time for a new one?
  • Are there ways to bottle using glass instead of plastic?

Thanks in advance!:mug:

You can get an auto siphon and use a carboy to bottle. I've done it. Little bit more of a PITA, but it works. As for your bucket...replace it. I replace mine every 10-12 batches. They don't cost much and it's not worth risking a batch of beer on.

Ok do you rack into a sanitized carboy then syphon to bottle or just syphon to bottle from primary/secondary?
