I went to grab Crisp Amber to replace Thomas Faucet amber malt. The bins must have been mixed up.I grabbed Goldswaen-classic malt that Iv'e never heard of.It says intense Carmel & malt aroma. Its from the'Netherlands..Would it work as a sub?? I have around 1/2 pound of Mutons Amber malt and lots of Munich also. Brewing Yoopers 60 minute clone. The grain bill is all 2 row with just a bit of Thomas Faucet.

The difference would be pretty big, I'd have to say. Amber can be substituted best with Victory or Biscuit. The general flavour profile it would give is dry biscuit in smaller amounts (1-5% grist) and gets progressively nuttier with larger amounts. None of these should produce a caramel or sweet malty flavour.

What type of beer are you looking to brew?
