I made two batches of wheat beer from a single mash on Saturday. I pitched WY1272 that had been harvested two weeks earlier. I made a starter with the harvested yeast and calculate I pitched about 300b cells per vessel. The beer had on OG of 1.054.
I pitched Saturday about 11am, and had activity by 6pm. By 10, I had a nice krausen starting. On Sunday and Monday morning there was a nice short pillow of goodness. Last night I came home and they both had the following tops. I have been keeping it between 62-64f in my swamp cooler with the carboys submerged in water to just under the wort line.
Anywho, I don't remember these little spots on the surface last time I use this yeast. Does this look ok? Thanks in advance.
