My first two AG batches went very well. Brown ale is delicious and about perfect in every way; ESB is still conditioning in the bottle, I have high hopes for it. Planning on doing an oatmeal stout next. Any suggestions on recipe, technique, ingredients, or anything else would be much appreciated. (Right now leaning toward the recipe in John Palmer's book).
Thanks!

Can't go wrong with Yooper's recipe. One of the best beers that I've made.

Yooper's oatmeal stout, use Maris otter, English crystal and chocolate malts, and golden naked oats.

I got this recipe into the 2017 GABF pro-am.

13lbs Pale ale malt or marris otter
1lb crystal 20
1.5lbs of old fashioned oats. Must boil till cooked n slimy in a gallon of water (add straight to tun)
1lb Chocolate malt
0.25lb black patent

3oz coco powder (add to mash)

1 oz cascade 60min
1oz cascade 30min

English ale yeast of choice. S04 or wlp007 are my fav.
