- Food stamps and WIC! Every time I go to the grocery store i seem to get behind that woman/man getting groceries with their Horizons card or WIC check. She/He is either -

a. Morbidly obese with a grocery cart FULL of microwave pizzas, ice cream, chips, etc. etc. etc. Glad to know my taxes are paying to feed your fat a$$ more junk food. There should be a weight limit or something.

b. Teenager/Young lady with 4 kids with a shopping cart full of fresh squeezed OJ, rib-eyes, Deli meats, Shrimp, Salmon, etc. etc. talking on a Iphone. Glad to see my tax dollars are buying you food better then i can afford while your talking on a cell phone that would feed my family for a month.

c. Illegal immigrant with the anchor babies. Come to America to work - Dont got a problem with that but sorry if your not here legally you shouldn't get benefits from the government cause your aren't paying into the system.

Food Stamps have there place and should be for families that are down on their luck. They should be for staple food items and not junk food or fancy stuff.

I was returning a TV antenna at Wal-Mark (some ass suggested a model that didn't ****ing work at all ) and was behind a lady that put her whole $300 on debit instead of credit. They scanned every item to issue a cash refund, then re-scanned every item so she could put it on credit. Haven't been back to Wal-Mart since....

Not that WIC won't buy most of the items you mentioned. They're not cash. They can be used for specific items, like a gallon of milk, a bag of dry beans or a jar of peanut butter, a gallon of orange juice, etc.

Before these things went it, there might have been 5 checkers working. Now there's two and maybe one more babysitting the self check stations. That's two people out of work. The store owners put those in so they can lay people off and pocket what they would've been paying them. I don't care how long the lines are. I will NEVER go through the self check lanes.

Honestly i kid you not a couple of weeks ago the women in front of me checked out with her WIC check. When i got to the parking lot she was loading her groceries into a H2 Hummer. Doesn't one have to be poor to get these WIC checks or does it like come with the baby??

I once witnessed a woman go off on a WalMart checker cause her welfare check was out of date. And then she proceeded to remove the staple items(milk, eggs,etc..), that would have benifitted the 3 kiddos in her cart, and pulled out a wad of cash to pay for vanity items (hair products, nail products, etc...)

See, I don't understand the issue with people using a cell phone in public. People talk in public all the time. How is it different than if his wife was there with him and he was holding the same conversation with her? Is it offensive to only hear one person talking? Is it because you can't eavesdrop on both sides of the conversation that upsets people? To me, if someone's talking on the phone, then at least I'm only having to hear ONE person yammering about something I don't care about instead of two.

People who flick their cigarette butts out the window onto the street or dump ashtrays out in parking lots. These people should be shot dead. Cigarette filters are made of cellulose acetate, a form of plastic. Cigarette butts ar NOT biodegradable and can remain in the environment as long as other forms of plastic. Plus, I just don't like having to look at them on the street... makes my stomach queasy when I see them.

I think it's also tone and subject of conversation. When 2 people are standing in line, usually it's some basic inane chit chat kept at a nice reasonable volume (yes, there are always some that are not like this).

However, when people are on the phone, often they feel like they have to yell to the other person, and often talk about things as if they were in the privacy of their own home in spite of being in public.

As far as in public goes, I hate it when people yammer into their bluetooth. If their hand is to their face it is clearly visible that they are on the phone. But half the time i think that they are either crazy, or trying to talk to me because i didn't see the stupid thing in their ear.

+1000000 on writing checks. Pretty sure that there fancy machine that gives your check a quick one stroke FAP is the same as swiping a debit card. GTFO out of the line beoitch (they're all female). We still know if you got insufficient funds even if you paid with your stone tablet check that just slowed us all down.
