Bart can still sling it

Given all his kind health scares and brushes with death recently, its great to see how good and happy he looks, much less what a down to Earth guy he is.

Total embodiment of Wisconsin to me. He is a friendly humble winner, but it didn't come from talent alone, lots of hard work and perseverance. . .

newglarusbrewingFirst R&D release for the summer, June 8 & 9, is our 25th Anniversary Ale, a bold Belgian Quadruple
*
German & English malted barley, rich caramel & raisin notes. Aussie hops & Belgian Yeast rested in brandy barrels give subtle cinnamon & clove notes. Fusion of Wisconsin maple syrup & Belgian candy sugar pushes the original gravity to 23 Plato. 11.5% ABV

Sounds dee-lish. Also seems like it shouldn't be a **** show in obtaining - Brandy Barrel Aged Belgian Quad doesn't seem like it would be a massive FIB draw.

Honestly, when was the last time a New Glarus R&D was a shitshow to obtain? Very Sour Peach?

The last 6+ have hung around the Beer Depot for quite a while after release, so much so that I don't plan on heading up early for Great Taste Friday to grab it as I'm sure I'll be able to on Sunday on the way home.

I'm just hoping they re-release Minstral or have another fun brewery only lager in the Beer Depot that weekend.

Fair. I think Vintage 14 was well attended, but Wild Peach was probably the last (only?) one where there was a serious line down the hill. But if they had announced a “lambic inspired ale with [insert fruit here]”, it would have been a shitshow.

Fun fact: Powzy’s dad was behind me in line at the Wild Peach release. Powzy was wearing zubaz pants that day.

Powzy wears Zubaz every single ******* day, didn't you know that?

Rumblings on BA that NG Wild Sour Ale will be returning this year.

Inb4: not as good as the first batch.
The first batch was mediocre... Until about a year later when it got stupid ******* good. I think I still have a couple bottles left...

Assume it's coming from Chris Drosner (wibeerbaron) on twitter who said this:
You guys a mini-whale is returning this summer: New Glarus Wild Sour Ale set for mid-July release, draft and bottles. #wibeer

(I don't know how to link tweets)

Plenty of 25th anniversary around. Still had Gotlandic, Vintage, Sour Porter, and one other one I can't remember. Mistral still available, but SR was not. Nice to see interesting beers on tap as well. I thought the 25th, Mistral and Absolution were great.
Agreed 25th is fantastic. Will be a great beer to enjoy this winter when it’s cold as hell outside.
Strawberry Rhubarb was available yesterday but was gone today :(.

And free Black Top aluminum street signs was a nice bonus

I never heard anything about that Gotlandic. I need to make a trip up there and grab a bunch of these bottles.

I’ll be there today. Heard they had about a fourth of a pallet left of it, so might want to do sooner. Or just message me and I can probably pick some up for you.

Would you mind posting the amounts left of Gotlandic, 25th, and Mistral when you stop in?

25th had boatloads. Rumor is they made enough to last the summer. I still bought 4 more though.

Gotlandic almost gone. At 10:30 this morning there were about 300 bottles.

Mistral doing a bit better.

Heading up to Madison on Friday, and looking to see if there is anything new / exciting I should be checking out. Planned to hit up One Barrel and Funk Factory, but aside from those two what else should we be doing?

Thanks for the assistance!

Hate to say this, but stay away from the older Funk Factory bottle offerings unless you are an Upland fan. Both Morebei and Blood of Jove had become exceedingly astringent when I had them last week. Morebei had significantly changed in a very bad way since I had it in January.

Oh I'd very much like to try them and then give Levi **** (he's a friend). Usually when I go we end up splitting a bottle or two and then just drink what is on draft that day.

Thanks for the heads up though!

Was just in Madison this weekend and was pleasantly surprised with Working Draft. A must try IMO.

If you are going to One Barrel, Next Door brewpub is in the same neighborhood.
