No more coolers allowed in the back post-line for the New Glarus releases.

Edit: Deb says you are allowed to continue bottle sharing in the parking lot, just no more courtyard shares.
The guy that ruined it for everyone is trying to justify his actions to Roger85 in a fb beer group. I can confirm dude is a complete homie.

I feel like we are FIBing this thread enough. As sad as it was that a new rule had to be implemented (again, because people fought over beer), keeping the shares in the lot seemed to keep everything a bit calmer and friendlier. People also seemed more willing to clean up after themselves.

The last release really showed the ugly side of the beer scene, but I will say this one seemed to sort of restore my faith.

Final note: hometown blonde is fire.

A whole gaggle of FIBS at New Glarus from Friday morning including Rizdac trickytunadicky lurchingbeast dvelcich fear025 pasta and our honorary WI friend elkhunter36

Anyone know the guy wearing the purple shirt with the flannel wrapped around him? I think he is an old school Ratebeer guy, but god damn he is the absolute worst. Gives me **** for talking with a few friends during the line moving up as if I wont go to the back, and then comes by asking for pours of any and everything we have open.

Why did it matter. They never ran out of bottles.

Some assorted pictures from levifunk's Pre Great Taste of the Midwest event on Friday afternoon. A really well run event that I hope continues in this format in the future. $5 drink tickets that could be purchased a couple of places, cash and credit bottle sales after the first 15 minutes when the to go bottle line wasn't moving fast enough, lots of space for folks to mingle / hang out outside the taproom.

Some water coolers outside would have been perfect, but aside from that and the mosquitoes I have no complaints and had a great time prior to the evening's events.

I also hope Levi's event stay the same if it means I can skip the bottle line and just post up at the bar all day. That was probably the highlight of my weekend.

What's up with mosquitoes in Madison? I've never been bitten by so many in the middle of the day.

You clearly were not inside the tent very long dealing with whoever was ripping ass over and over again. Smelled like a garbage can filled with egg salad and vomit left in the sun for a day.

I know the guy in the blue shirt in plaid shorts. He was ahead of us, so he shouldn't have said boo to you, though.

Sounds like Levi.

DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) At least 20 fire engines responded to a fire at a restaurant and brewery in Door County late Sunday morning.

Fire crews have been on scene at the Shipwrecked Brew Pub in Egg Harbor since about 11 a.m. Sunday and continue to put out the fire.

The General Manager of Shipwrecked, John Smith, told Action 2 News that the fire started around 11 a.m., when the restaurant opened, on the second floor.

Smith says the fire started after an air conditioner caught fire. He also believes the building is a total loss.

No injuries have been reported and Smith says everyone got out of the building safely.

Pictures on social media show heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor.

The American Red Cross is on scene with food and water to help assist firefighters. The Main Street Market helped supply some of the food.

Crews have shut off the power within a block radius of the fire.

Fire departments responding include; Egg Harbor, City and Town of Sturgeon Bay, Ephraim, Southern Door County, Brussels, and Jacksonport.

The Shipwrecked Brew Pub is also a brewery and popular tourist destination in Door County.

The pub, originally built in 1882, took on a number of names over the years before the current owners purchased the building in 1997 and reopened it as the Shipwrecked.

Is the New Glarus Cherry Stout worth stopping for this weekend?
Not sure, but Hometown Blonde certainly is worth stopping at the brewery to grab a case.
THIS. Plus they were selling R&Ds: Champ, Pomm, Vintage '15, Vintage '16, etc...at 2 pp in the beer depot

Funk Factory is also doing 4 oz pours of Side Project on the weekends. Loved Madison. I hope to be back soon!

In Wisconsin for work today and tomorrow.

Looking to haul back some New Glarus sours. Are these widely available or brewery only?

If available, where is the best spot to buy? I'm currently in Neenah and will be in Milwaukee tonight.

Thanks in advance!

Please clarify "sours". R&D Sours are brewery only. Fruit beers and Thumbprints are widely distributed.

In Milwaukee, go to Discount on Oklahoma assuming you have a car.

if you're still in Neenah, Club Liquor in Menasha is close and has a decent selection.

Flanagan's in Appleton is a bit further away but also not bad.

you can pull Serendipity, Belgian Red and maybe 4-packs of Raspberry Tart pretty much anywhere (gas stations, Festival, Woodman's, any liquor store).
