I generally avoid DIPA's but was super impressed by Idiot Farm.
I need to try some Karben. Are their bottles around all the time?

Also I love how many FIBs are regulars on this thread.

Soon to be Ex-Fib.

And i saw Fantasy Factory IPA and the Amber Ale all over. The Tokyo somethingoranother i had on tap, which was bangin', same with the Idiot Farm.

Any of you big strong Madison types wanna help us unpack our truck & move the furniture into our new place on Sunday afternoon/evening? It's a 3rd floor corner apt on the east side with no elevator...but i'll pay you cash and buy you a case of beer :D

Any suggestions on places to check out while in Door County? More specifically in Sturegon Bay? I know of Door County Brewing and plan on checking it out. Also I beleive there is a cidery as well?

Door County Brewing is definitely worth checking out. The beer scene in Sturgeon Bay is pretty bleak but I have a couple of restaurant recommendations.

Yes it's in a gas station but the food is fantastic.

Some of the best prime rib anywhere.

Shipwrecked in Egg Harbor. Meh. But here's a place with a real list. Not Sturgeon Bay though, but everyone hits Sister Bay on a Door County trip right?

Check out Wild Tomato up there as well. They update on BeerMenus too and make some great wood fired pizzas.
I'm hoping to be up there this Sunday also, going after some hog smallmouth bass.

Damn, they use to be good about updating it. It's not a huge list but they usually have solid stuff on and make sure to check their bottle list.
If you're an adventurous eater, they do some interesting pizza combos. Last time I was there, we got one of their specials which had rabbit confit and seared scallops on it and it was pretty damn delicious.

That cider house rules. All jokes aside. Grab the brut for srs, it's delicious. Also take the ferry to Washinton Island and do a shot of Angostura at Nelson's.

BLACK GOLD UPDATE

That get your attention? OK, here we go, the long awaited information on the upcoming release of 22oz bottles of Black Gold, a big, bold stout aged a full three years in bourbon barrels.

On October 10, 2015, right after the River Run (see our website for info on that), as the Great Amherst Beer Fest starts, we will begin selling bottles of Black Gold. Historically, there have not been huge crowds for that beer. Based on inquiries, we believe it will this year. So, we are adopting the same strategy as our anniversary beer sales, which went very smooth this year, and are using Brown paper Tickets for the Black Gold sales.

Here is how that works, go to the below link for Brown Paper Tickets, and purchase your ticket for $5. We donate that money to the Amherst Jensen Center. That ticket allows you to purchase up to 5 22oz bottles of Black Gold for $20 each. No need to arrive early or wait too long in line. Sales will begin at Noon on October 10 and go until 4pm. If, after 4pm, there are still bottles available, we will create a new allocation and sell them first come first served. NO PROXY BUYING.

TICKET SALES BEGIN MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 AT NOON

More information about the run and the fest will be coming as we get closer to the date.

ready, set...go!

Highly tempting for this FIB to make the trip up there for this one.
